If we encounter
a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads - Ralph
Waldo Emerson
AICC Library
Books are the
most constant of companions... you can take them with you and glean from
the wisdom at any time. It is like having a wise friend at your side at
all times.
We are so excited to start a new venture in AICC this year. You will be
amazed at the growth and knowledge that you will experience if you just
make a little time, even 15 minutes a day to read.
It is our hope that this library will fire up your love for reading
and will encourage your daily walk, resulting in a greater passion and
love for the Lord. If you have any suggestions of books that should
be in the library - books that have blessed you, please feel free to meet
the library coordinators and we will try to get it done!
If you have old books that you were blessed by and want to see it bless
others, please donate them to the library using the
donation form.
We plan
to have the library open every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month
after the service. Please feel free to browse through our
selection of books
(Updated as of March 3, 2006).
Here is a quick link to the
newest items added to the library.
Goals
of the Library
1.
Firstly, it is to enable people reach their own spiritual goals, to have a
closer walk with Christ. I should add that this is to be in addition to
reading the Bible and not to substitute or decrease your love and time for
God’s Word. There are so many books to choose from that can give you new
insights and challenge you to greater closeness and intimacy with the
Lord.
2.
Secondly, it is to impart a love of learning to our children. What
a wonderful gift if we can foster their imagination and inculcate in them
a love for reading and thereby to help them grow in the knowledge of God.
Here are some tips
to foster the love of reading in your child.
Please take a moment to read through our
rules and regulations.
Here are the frequently
asked questions.
We look forward to seeing you at the grand opening on the 26th of
February 2006.

We are maintaining our online catalog through
LibraryThing (www.librarything.com).
We have a paid
non-profit account for our books. Our account is private. It can be
accessed only through our account name and password. AICC Library
coordinators will be using this online tool to add our material to our
‘virtual library’. This catalog is useful for our congregation to:
-
View all the
materials in the AICC Library from the comfort of your home PC
-
Check the new items
when added
-
Searching for
materials on a specific topic e.g. Evangelism, it is easy to find as the
subjects are listed for each title
-
‘Circulate’ their
personal collection without physially bringing in.Consider donating it
to the Library or 'loan' it to us for a period of 6 months to circulate.
For user name and password, please
contact the Library Co-ordinators.
